Sometimes I introduce worship by saying that you may not be here for yourself but for the person sitting next to you…even if you don’t talk to each other, your presence can be an encouragement. Fellowship is like this. There is a Greek word- koinonia- that can be translated as fellowship, contribution, or participation. When we put all of these definitions together, we find a mutuality of giving and receiving that illustrates why fellowship is important to our faith. Being present to others, laughing, sharing, crying, eating, maybe even doing nothing, is what I think the incarnation was all about. A God who shows up, hangs out, and feels things with us. – Pastor Trudy Stoffel
