There is no shortage of needs in the world. There is a reality that if we do things close to home it is too easy to just add it to our other activities and not immerse ourselves. Well, and sometimes when we are close to a need, our own assumptions and fears get in the way of action. Perhaps another form of scarcity thinking. Nine hours is enough to really leave our lives behind and to get past fears and assumptions to see things differently. Perhaps it will help us to see our own communities with new eyes and we will open ourselves to participate in God’s abundance- giving and receiving. – Pastor Trudy Stoffel
