We use readings from something called the Narrative lectionary. We start every fall in the Old Testament; moving through history and prophets and we have supplemental readings from one of the Gospels- this year they will be from the Gospel of John. After Christmas we move fully into the Gospel, but we are grounded in a very different way having journeyed through the Bible that Jesus read. Interestingly enough, we will also find Jesus in the Old Testament, learning that Martin Luther’s assertion that the Old Testament is the cradle for Jesus is accurate! – Pastor Trudy Stoffel
