As stated last week, the vicars are great at opening us to new perspectives and supporting current ministry by preaching and teaching. They are not able to help develop and build new ministry because of their limited time here.
As we have done in previous years without vicars, our cohort of retired and bi-vocational pastors will be invited to preach and teach. Pastors Wende West, Barb Ziah, Jane Perkolup, Rafael Malpica-Padilla, and Mike Langer are already booked to preach for one Sunday a piece through the end of December.
In addition, we will be forming teams to support confirmation and youth ministry and we have more people helping with pastoral visitation to visit our 15 or so homebound folks. You can also support GLC by serving during worship.
This will give us time to learn, grow and ponder our next steps. Remember that part of the Making Space Campaign is about freeing up resources that could be directed to another supportive staff member that will allow us to continue our growth trajectory and quality programs. ~Pastor Trudy Stoffel
