About Our Serving Groups

Serving together makes a difference in our community but also is one way our faith becomes real.  As we work, we get to know each other, too.

Serving Opportunities

St. Andrew Food Distribution

Geneva Lutheran serves at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Chicago supporting and assisting with weekly emergency food distributions. GLC volunteers gather each Friday afternoon at St. Andrew to unpack and break down boxes, sort non-perishables, assemble produce bags and bag rice and beans for the next day’s distribution.  GLC also leads the distribution once every four to five weeks by supplying an abundance of volunteers to pack 350+ bags of non-perishables to go along with 350+ bags of fresh produce and safely load all into the cars of those in need.  GLC is grateful to partner with St. Andrew and other area churches to sustain this timely and essential community outreach.  Contact Julie Slifka for more information.
