PDO Handbook

Parent Handbook

I agree to follow the PDO time schedule.

    1. 8:45-11:45, 9:15-12:15, and 9:30-12:30.
    2. I may NOT bring my child(ren) prior to session start, as the PDO Teachers are preparing for the day. Doors will open 5 minutes before the start and end of class.
    3. I am responsible for picking up my child(ren) promptly at session end time. Failure to do so may result in additional charges and/or dismissal from PDO.

I will label with my child(ren)’s name(s) all items brought to PDO:

    1. Lunch boxes and water bottles should have your child’s name on the outside of the lunchbox for ease of distribution.
**If my child has a food allergy, I will notify Ali Blane and the PDO staff ASAP.
    2. Please provide a single diaper with your child’s name on it, if needed.
    3. If your child arrives in boots, please bring a pair of shoes to change into.

I will provide a lunch for my child(ren).

    1. Please send a water bottle and/or a drink for lunch.
    2. Please do not send any RED drinks, as they stain the carpet when spilled.
    3. Only yogurt in “cup or pouch” form is acceptable and opened. All other forms are returned home. No go-gurts.
    4. Please remember to always send a drink. Drinks are not provided by PDO.
    5. If silverware is needed, please provide your own.

I will keep my child(ren) home when they are sick. If your child has Covid or flu-like symptoms, stay home until they are symptom-free.

    1. If your child is ill, coughing, sneezing excessively, has drainage from the nose, has a fever, is experiencing diarrhea or vomiting, or has any open lesion or rash, you may NOT bring him/her to PDO until he/she has been symptom-free for 24 hours or more.
    2. The PDO staff reserves the right to send your child home if they show signs of illness.

I will work with PDO Teachers on Potty Training.

    1. If you are potty training, child must be accident-free for two weeks before sending them to PDO in underwear.
    2. Please do NOT drop off your child in a dirty diaper.

I will work with PDO Teachers on Biting and Behavior.

    1. While biting/pushing can be a normal developmental stage for some young children, repeated or aggressive biting/pushing that occurs three (3) times will result in a suspension to ensure the safety of other children.

We realize changes in schedules can occur. We ask that you give a two (2) week notice in withdrawing your child/children from PDO.
