People often apologize for crying. I wonder if they, like me, heard ‘don’t cry’ from adults when they were children? As an adult, I get why we say it… when we see kids are sad or hurting we want to make it all better. I’ve also learned the value of a ‘good cry’. And I can’t really think of many ‘cries’ that are inappropriate. Crying releases all kinds of pent up things and I like to say that tears are a wordless way to pray. So let’s try this… when we are tempted to say, ‘I’m sorry I’m crying-I’ll try to get it together.’ Let’s try… I really needed to pray that prayer. When we see others crying, let’s try to be a safe place for them to have feelings. – Pastor Trudy Stoffel
